Kohlrabi - is it a giant radish or a cabbage? Well, it is in the brassica family, so it is related to cabbage! I love to eat it raw, with a sprinkle of sea salt. It can also be cooked just any other brassica vegetable. The leaves are edible too!

Kohlrabi looks like a root vegetable growing above ground! Direct seed or transplant Kohlrabi in the early spring and again in the late summer for a fall harvest! Harvest when it is about 3 or 4" - don't let it get too big or it may become tough. Harvest by cutting the whole plant at the base. No need to pull the roots out - the worms will enjoy those!
