Multiple seedlings per pot. This is a bulbing onion that is great for fresh eating and also stores well if left to dry after harvesting. Planted in the early spring they should be ready to harvest in the summer. I spread my onions around the garden in different beds and in between other crops, especially brassicas (cabbage, brocolli, caulfilowers). The strong smell of onions is said to distract or confuse cabbage pests that locate their preferred crops by scent.

Photo: Interplanted onions with brassicas and carrots to help deter pests. Also planted in this photo is an alpine strawberry runner and cilantro.
