In this class, you will learn all about how to build healthy soil to increase yields, improve water retention, and even help with pest control! We will discuss using organic and sustainable methods, including mulching and composting. Marni has taught this class for many years now and considers it one of the most important gardening classes that she offers.

In this class, students will learn about the plants that attract beneficial insects to provide multiple benefits to their garden, including pollination and pest control as well as how to identify insects and deal with garden pests.

Marni will will discuss the pros and cons of keeping chickens in an urban setting, the best types of coops/housing, how to keep your flock healthy, breed considerations, as well as deep bedding and composting methods for dealing with manure.
