About the event
Sally and Daniel contacted me in January of last year to learn how to grow more of their own food and to also grow plants that promote biodiversity and provide food & habitat for pollinators in an easy to maintain landscape. Their front yard was very large, in full sun and covered in lawn for decades. We created a design and a plan and Sally and Daniel went to work sheet mulching the front yard in stages. It took many loads of arborist chips but in the fall of 2025 we were able to get most of the plants installed and in Spring of this year installed more plants and an arbor.
Where once their was only lawn there is now honeyberries, apple trees, aronia, quince, fig, huckleberries, blueberries, native plants, ... and so much more! Come see this newly planted future urban food forest in it's early stages. If…
