Ribes nigrum x 'Belaruskaja' is a cross of R. nigrum x ridikuscha. It's productive and easy to grow, with exceptionally flavorful fruit that contains a subtle and unique floral aroma. Mature size 4-5' tall. Prefer full sun locaation with afternoon shade for best fruiting. Resistant to white pine blister rust. Self-fertile.
Currants are excellent for fresh eating, baking, or for jellies/jams. Black Currants are especially high in antioxidants and contain more vitamin C by weight than an orange, and nine times the calcium, five times the iron, and four times the magnesium and potassium of blueberries!
