Honeyberry 'Blue Velvet'
Lonicera caerulea var. edulis. This unique variety has unusual, attractive greyish-green, velvet-like foliage and a broad, spreading habit. Blue Velvet™ produces tasty, large fruit and grows 3 to 4 feet in height and 5 to 6 feet in width. Two varieties required for cross-pollination.
A unique species of Honeysuckle, Honeyberry is a very hardy small deciduous perennial shrub. Honeyberry is valued for its sweet and tasty Blueberry-like fruit great for fresh eating, Honeyberry also makes delicious and nutritious juice and preserves. Unlike Blueberries, Honeyberries do not require acid soil and can do well in sun to part sun. Plant two varieties for cross pollination. Late blooming varieties are best for our Pacific Northwest growing conditions.
