Hyssop, Official

Hyssopus officinalis. Woody perennial evergreen shrub. This is a classic herb used in knot gardens and for low hedging. Can be readily shaped and is quite lovely in flower. The aroma of the flowers, either fresh or dried, is completely unique and one of the best of all herbal aromas. Traditional usage (TWM): common cold. Plant prefers full sun and regular garden soils, excellent drainage.The pollinators call them heaven. So many pollinators! And, it's a perennial, so it will return again next summer!
 
Try a fresh leaf tea (not dried) and your life will not be the same! Just steep leaves in hot water (to desired flavor) and you will be floored by the intense flavor. Dry some leaves near the end of the season to put up for the winter months!
