Passionflower

Passiflora spp. Commonly known as Maypop. The only common Passiflora native to N America, this useful plant has edible leaves, flowers and fruit. Valued by native peoples for its sedative, relaxing qualities.
Like most maypops, once established it can handle freezes with no problem and will regrow year after year! The vines can be trained along a trellis or fence, but prefer to grow freely as compact growth tends to inhibit flowering and fruiting.
