Sunflower, Maximilian (perennial)

Helianthus maximiliani. As tough as it is beautiful, Maximilian blooms from August to frost. Masses of 3" yellow-gold blooms. Spreads by rhizome so keep potted or plan to dig and share to avoid it taking over. This tall wild flower is excellent for back borders of ornamental beds and for cut flower bouquets. Attracts bees and butterflies.
